Program Description:

Emotionally Focused Family Therapy is a model of intervention that helps build strong and cohesive families from the inside out. This approach utilizes new insights from attachment theory to understand distressed and satisfying relationships within a family. In this one-day workshop, the EFFT attachment perspective will be highlighted along with and the relevant research that supports it. The therapeutic map for this systemic, short-term approach will be elucidated including the key moments of change, and the clinical interventions utilized. Videotaped therapeutic segments will be shown to demonstrate the reprocessing and shaping of positive interaction within a family unit. Participants will have an opportunity to practice skills in a structured exercise.
