Program Description:

Susan Johnson, one of the originators of Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, is presenting this 1-day workshop for therapists who already have already taken basic EFT training.  The workshop focuses on helping participants hone two essential core skills for the EFT therapist: heightening emotional experience and  moving emotional experience into interaction using enactments. 

When registering, participants will be given an opportunity to submit questions about change events for the presenters to address.  

*** This program is not required for EFT Certification and does not count toward training hours necessary for EFT Certification ***.

Course Objectives:

Participants will......
Know when in the therapy process to heighten emotion.
Be able to identify which emotion to focus on.

Understand the process of heightening emotion using RISSSC.
How to set up and initiate enactments.
Know how to move emotion into meaningful enactments.
How to process enactment.

 

   

Program Requirements:

*** All participants must have completed the 4 day Externship in EFT ***.  It is recommended that participants have read The Practice of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy: Creating Connection and are working through Becoming an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist: The Workbook

$250 for the 1-day event - there is a fifty dollar discount if you also sign up for the workshop with Gail Palmer on EFT with Families

Cancellation Policy
If you cancel up to 14 days prior to the workshop date the Washington Baltimore Center for EFT will refund your payment minus 20%.  If you cancel within 14 days of the event your payment will be refunded 50%.

From Baltimore:  Drive west on U.S. 40 to U.S. Route 29 South.  Take the Route 175 East exit and follow Route 175 to the Snowden River/College Gateway Drive exit.  Cross over Snowden River at the light and follow Col. Gateway Drive through three traffic lights.  The Gateway Building is immediately on the left. 

From Baltimore Beltway 695:  Take exit 16 West (Interstate 70).  Drive 7 Miles and exit on U.S. Route 29 South toward Columbia.  Take the Route 175 East exit and follow Route 175 to the Snowden River/Col. Gateway Drive exit.  Cross over Snowden River at the light and follow Col. Gateway Drive through three traffic lights.  The Gateway Building is immediately on the left. 

From I-95:  Driving north or south on I-95, take the Route 175 West exit toward Columbia (exit 41B).  Follow Route 175 about 1/2 mile to the Col. Gateway Drive exit.  Follow Gateway Drive through three traffic lights.  The Gateway Building is immediately on the left. 

From Annapolis and East:  Drive west on Route 50 to I-97 North (Baltimore) to Route 32 West (Columbia).  Follow Route 32 to I-95 North.  Take the Route 175 West exit toward Columbia (exit 41B).  Follow Route 175 about 1/2 mile to the Col. Gateway Drive exit.  Follow Gateway Drive through three traffic lights.  The Gateway Building is immediately on the left. 

Travel Information:

Driving:
Columbia Maryland is between Washington, DC and Baltimore just off route I95. It is about a half hour to an hour drive from most parts of Washington and Baltimore. Columbia is about 4 hours from New York, 2 hours from Philadelphia, and 2 hours from Richmond. See above for driving directions from Baltimore and Washington.

Airports:
The conference is about 13 miles (20 minutes) from the Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI) and 36 miles (50 minutes) from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. 

Train:
Amtrak train has a station at Baltimore Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport with service to Philadelphia, New York and other destinations with taxi and limo service to Columbia, Maryland about 13 miles (20 minutes).
